Striatal histamine mechanism in the pathogenesis of restless legs syndrome
Iron therapy not only reverses RLS-like symptoms but also decreases striatal H3R levels. Thioperamide, produces no change in sleep–wake states, but suppresses motor hyperactivity in sleep. H3R antagonists may have potential for the treatment of RLS and PLM disorder.
