Measuring the prevalence of sleep disturbances in people with dementia living in care homes
Sleep disturbances are prevalent in residents with dementia but less common than those measured on actigraphy. These are associated with distress and increased prescription of psychotropics. There are discrepancies between validated questionnaires and actigraphy, which appears to offer no benefit.
