REM sleep EEG instability in REM sleep behaviour disorder and clonazepam effects

EEG structure differences during REM sleep between controls, drug-naive iRBD and iRBD patients under a regular therapy with clonazepam were studied. REM structure changes found shows significant alterations in the cortical electrophysiology of iRBD suggesting early expression of the neurodegeneration.
