Effect of CPAP Treatment of OSA on Clinical Prognosis After Ischemic Stroke: An Observational Study

The current study included 101 patients with complete PSG after an ischemic stroke and shows that good adherence to CPAP treatment in patients with moderate to severe SDB is associated with lower rates of recurrence and death at 2 years’ follow-up. However, adherence in this population is very low, and efforts are needed to improve tolerance and acceptance of SDB treatment. What is important to note is that this was not a randomised controlled trial, so bias may be present. There were also no statistically significant differences between severity groups observed.
